“It's the little details
that are vital. Little things make big things happen.”
(John Wooden)
Imagine hundreds of
puzzle pieces, all sprawled out on the floor. Each of the pieces then slowly
falls into the rightful place as we construct it, forming a picture. A beautiful
picture. When the pieces of the puzzle are not yet a picture, we look at each of them. Truly
look at each of them and appreciate it. However, as it is formed into one, we
can only see it as what it is. We only appreciate it as a whole and no longer
think of the pieces that made it.
Analogically, those
pieces are the choices, the blessings, the memories and the people that revolve
around us. The picture is our life. The choices that we made, the blessings
that are granted to us and the memories that are engraved in our minds by the
people around us are what made our life as what we know of nowadays. As these
little things make up our life, they may no longer linger in our mind.
Now, why don’t we
just take a little time and sit back to think and ponder of all the good things
that had happened to us. Memories from our childhood, from the times we spent
with our families, friends and schoolmates. All of those memories are created
due to the love that we get from the people we care. Yes, those are the good
memories that we are thankful for. However, did we truly treasure those things?
Did we take enough time to thank to all of those people who are generous enough
to give us their love?
Well you only need the light
when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
This song, “Let Her
Go” by Passenger, best describes the thing that I intend to express here. As the
lyrics say, we often miss and think about the small stuff only when it is no
longer there for us. Since it has been around us for too long, we took it for
granted. If we do not value these little things now, it might be too late for
it one day.
“Thank you”, “Sorry”
and “I love you”. These three phrases are sufficient enough for us to express
our thankfulness towards others. It is never too late to start this and inshallah,
our life will be more fulfilled.
