IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE MOST GRACIOUS THE MOST MERCIFUL
‘I see skies of blue and clouds of white,
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night,
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.’
-Louis Armstrong’
“To live each day as if it is your grand final day.”
Humans can never appreciate what they never have. We longed, we desire but we never appreciate it.
Then after we have it, we have a choice whether to appreciate it or not. But often, we do not know how to love it and treat it equivalent to its worth. Because we have been longing for it throughout our life, and we expect it to be perfect only for us. While it never is.
However after some time, either after we lose it, or after long enough, we start to realize, it has been perfect from the start, and nothing else would be better.
“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”
(Theodor Seuss Geisel)
For being drenched in the rain.
For stumbling on the road.
For falling from a tree.
For friends.
For love.
For faith.
If only, we decide to at least try, to live our day as if it is our final, we’d never get mad to an innocent person spilling her coffee on our new denim accidentally.
We’d never be too sad for not getting an A in the test and feel like killing ourselves.
We’d never be too angry for anything and will live our days noticing the smallest thing that we never cared to acknowledge its presence.
The dazzling sunlight.
The bright yellow flower.
The fresh smell of clean air.
The beautiful smile that we have.
And we’d never throw our last day just like that, letting the time flows meaninglessly.
“Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.”
(Steve Jobs)
So, be kind and a little bit strict to yourself sometimes. Be honest.
Stop for a moment and think of the way we want to view this world.
Stop for a moment and think of what do we wish to do if this is the end.
And,
If only, today is our final day, what would we be doing right now?
What will be our most important priority?
“Say, He is Allah, the One.”
